AlpacaFest! 2009 promises to be even bigger and better than 2008.  Please stay tuned for details throughout the year.  It is tentatively scheduled for November ?, 2009, and will be held at the Ohio State Fairground's Bricker Building in Columbus, Ohio.

2009 Fair- September 3rd - September 7th (Labor Day)
9:00 a.m.- Midnight
(Fair Held Every Labor Day Weekend, Thursday through Monday)

Don't Miss: Ohio's Oldest All Volunteer Fair Band's 71st anniversary (1938-2009), Junior Fair Band and Other Special Attractions: The Natural Resource Area; Heritage Village; Milking Parlor; Entertainment Tent. Plus Hot Air Balloons, Skydiving, Antiques, Flowers, Circus, Foods, Band Concerts, Animal Petting Farm, Junior Fair, Three Midways, Bungee Jumping, Buckeye Super Stakes Harness & Amish Hi-Wheel Cart Races, Fireworks & More!

Daily Gate Admission: Adults $6.00, Kids (12 & under) Free. Free parking at Fairgrounds. Free Grandstand shows daily (fees charged for Demo Derbies, Doug Stone, and Confederate Railroad). Thursday "Youth Day" (18 & under Free); Friday "Senior Day" (65 & over Free).

Fair Hours: Thursday September 3rd through Monday September 7th. Fairgrounds open 9 a.m.-midnight; Exhibit Halls open 10 a.m.-10.p.m. Rides open daily noon-midnight. (Note: Livestock exhibits close at 6 p.m., Monday)

Directions: 130 acre Fairgrounds located in Burton in Geauga County in Northeast Ohio, approximately 40 miles east of Cleveland and about three miles east of State Route 44 and one mile north of State Route 87 at the Burton Village Square.

Anyone Can Enter:

Anyone wishing to enter an exhibit in the 2009 Fair must submit an official entry form (form photos copies are acceptable) to the Fair Secretary's office by the entry deadline of Wednesday, August 5th Deadline to Enter.  No entries will be accepted after this date. You do not have to be a Geauga county resident to enter an exhibit in the Fair. Many departments also offer special classes for entries by children.

Entry forms and the official Fair premium book, listing the rules, regulations and descriptions for each Fair department and class, are available through the Fair Secretary's office at 14373 N Cheshire St, Burton, Oh 44021, Wednesdays only from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until August when we are open Mon.-Fri. These items are also available at all branches of the Geauga County Public Library, Burton Public Library, and through the Geauga County Senior Center locations.

Fair Secretary's Office Hours: Year-round 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Wednesdays only. August 2009: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Monday- Saturday; September 3rd through September 7th, 2009: Daily during Fair.

Fair's Sponsor: Geauga County Agricultural Society, P.O. Box 402, Burton, OH 44021 Non-profit group. Oldest existing organization in Geauga County. Fair Board Directors represent each of Geauga's sixteen townships with five directors elected at- large.
